Hey Guys, I have owned this Applause guitar for over 32 years. Next to a Tesco guitar my mother bought me when I was 13 years old this guitar is the first one I ever owned. Not sure why but I just hung on to it.
Here I am at age 55, an accomplished guitarist that has played and loved guitars his whole life, wanting some input on this guitar. This is a Applause model number AA14 and SN 132392. It is just the common wood finish, not painted, lacquered or sunburst. It has the aluminum fret board and yes, still in pretty good shape. Does anyone have any knowledge on collectablilty or value (if any) on this guitar.
Would certainly love some input. I've had the same guitar since I was 17. I'm 45 now and it is still my favorite. Last summer, the head broke right between the two E-Nuts.
Thankfully, I was able to put some angle iron on it to fix it. Looks ugly but it didn't change the sound. If you ever want to get rid of yours for a fair price let me know.:: Does anybody know what this guitar is worth? Its made in Moosup CT and I've had it for over 17 years.:: I've seen it from under a hundred on ebay to 150 if its in good shape.
Want to sell it?: I've got the exact same guitar (SN 071047), and I'm looking at selling it to somebody who can actually play it. My father willed it to me, and it's a fine sounding instrument (with a steel fingerboard no less! No warping!), but I can't play it anymore (medical). If you're interested, drop me a note. : I've had the same guitar since I was 17. I'm 45 now and it is still my favorite.

Perhaps it's an earlier/later version of the aa14-4? I don't know, either way i'll never sell it. I was very fortunate finding it for just £50 (private sale) about 5 years ago. I use it for melodic alternate tunings. Mine is coloured deep red, also with an aluminium fretboard.
It was made in moosup, conn. It's an attractive yet unusually designed full bodied acoustic guitar.
It sounds gr8 amped up with the 'headway snake2' pick up i had installed into it recently. I believe it is indeed rare. DUDE, THE # AFTER THE DASH- IS 'FINISH CODE'; 4=NATURAL 2=RED; ETC.LOOK IT UP IGAVE YOU 2. :: i have an applause aa14-2. Perhaps it's an earlier/later version of the aa14-4? Do you have any photos of this guitar-i saw one in the pawn shop and i might get it. My Applause AA14 (SN 101729) was purchased in 1980 for about $280.00, but to me it is priceless.
The soft cases did not hold up too well, but the sound is decent and they take tons of normal abuse. The aluminum fretboard does wear down some after over 20 years of daily use, but not enough to influence playability. The plastic body is indestructible and the wooden face is about the only thing that needs tlc!: Hey, I've got one too! Serial n°067155.
Very good one with strong sound. But mine is getting older. I should change mechanics.:: Does anybody know what this guitar is worth?

AE127 is a model from the Applause AE series. It features the series standard construction and design, along with the high quality Ovation electronics. AE127 kicks off with a single-cut body made up of a standard composite bowl and a solid spruce sound board on the top. This combination was tested, tried and approved on countless occasions in past several decades. On the top of the ivoroid bound sound board, Ovation installs a standard rosewood bridge. Instead of the characteristic multiple sound holes, AE127 has only one placed in the center. Ovation`s OP4B preamp is installed on this model.
